‘Young Young and Young’ Man United Fans Rise In Unison To Back The Winger For Player Of Month

We are at the start of a new month in the Premier League and on the cusp of an intriguing clash against old rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. It is also that time of the month when we look back at the action in the last month and pick our player of the month.

The names that have been put forward for November player of the month are Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling, and Ashley Young. Who is your pick?

For me, it is a shootout between Pogba and Young. The French midfielder has been such an influence in the middle of the park that his absence cost us dearly. Even Jose Mourinho came out and said that it is the absence of Pogba that has left us 8 points behind City in the title race.

Pogba came storming back into the side, leading us to a 4-1 rout over Newcastle United in a man-of-the-match performance. It was as if he was never out of action!

But the real winner for me is Young. What a month the winger had! He was the star of the narrow 1-0 win over Brighton, with the deflected goal coming after Young’s drive from the edge of the area.

If he felt bad about not getting the credit for the goal against Brighton, there were no doubts about Young’s brace against Watford. His opener was a stunning low shot which ended his 18-month goal drought. The second goal from a free-kick to double the lead rolled back the years as Young put in a man-of-the-match performance.

Such has been his resurgence that there are already talks of a recall to the national team and a place in the next year’s England World Cup squad. I would say he’s a shoo-in but that’s a discussion for another day.

So, here you go. My pick for the player of November month is Ashley Young and looking at some of the Twitter reactions, I think many of the fans have the same opinion as mine.
