Manchester United have promised their manager Jose Mourinho that they will sign at least three ‘top-class’ players in order to keep him at the club and fend off any interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Chelsea gaffer recently sparked the talks of him joining the French giants by branding them ‘special’ and since then, there is a growing concern among the United faithful that he might actually leave United to join the PSG revolution.

The Portuguese endured somewhat of a mixed season last campaign as his team managed two major silverware, but finishing at a lowly 6th on the Premier League log. United started off the current season perfectly, but inconsistency and major injury worries see us 8 points behind Manchester City, who currently sit on top.

This followed by him criticising the club faithful’s negative reaction to his style of football and a number of substitutions, which eventually resulted in the fans asking for a face-to-face meeting with the gaffer.

Mourinho, upon his arrival, signed a three-year contract with United and is now approaching the mid-way point in his deal and the club now believe that he is far from being happy. Furthermore, the club have an option to extend his contract by another year but are now planning to offer him a jaw-dropping deal which will be hard to refuse.

According to the Guardian, the Portuguese is currently one of the highest earning managers, earning around £15m a year, but Spanish news outlet Sport claim that United are planning to hand him a new deal which will see him earn a whopping £20m-a-year [€22m].

A lucrative deal won’t be the only positive Mourinho will be getting, as the board has also promised him three ‘galacticos’ which would boost his options in the squad. The club were close to grabbing Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, but with the Spaniards losing their appeal to lift the transfer ban, the move failed to materialise.

And now, the reports are claiming that the club see the Frenchman as well as Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale as the potential targets. It, however, remains to be seen whether all this will tempt the Portuguese or not. However, one thing has been made perfectly clear; he will not end his career with Manchester United.

“The only thing I can say is that I’m still a coach with worries, with ambitions and with the desire to do new things. And I don’t believe … no, I’m sure that I won’t end my career here,” Mourinho was quoted by the Guardian.

Asked if that meant at United, Mourinho said: “Yes.”

Let’s hope he wins the league during his tenure with our club.
