21-year-old AS Roma Forward Gives A Hint On His Future – Dreams Of joining ‘bigger club’ Like Manchester United

Patrik Schick

It is not surprising to find youngsters take Manchester United as one of their dream clubs. AS Roma forward Patrik Schick joined the list by indicating that it is his desire to join the Red Devils sometime in the future.

The Czech Republic forward was speaking to Reporter Magazin (h/t Metro) and has claimed that joining the Red Devils could be a huge inspiration for him in the future. The 21-year-old striker joined Roma on a temporary deal from Sampdoria in the summer. However, he has struggled with injuries at the Stadio Olimpico this season and has made only one appearance for them.

It was rumoured that the youngster would join Italian Champions Juventus ahead of the 2017/18 season. He even failed the medical at the club, before making the move to AS Roma.

Schick even reportedly claimed that he would like to play in the Champions League at some stage in his career. So, this latest revelation that he wants to turn up for United isn’t a surprise at all.

When asked if money was the motivation for a move, Schick was straightforward and claimed that big clubs pay big money and it is always an inspiration to turn up for bigger clubs.

Schick was quoted by the Metro,

“Money? I take it as motivation, and I hope that in a few years I can move to an even bigger club where logically I’ll be paid even more. That motivation has always helped me a lot.

“It’s not really possible to move much higher [than Roma] but there are a few clubs… let’s say Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United.”

The forward was compared to Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic earlier in the summer by Juventus legend Pavel Nedved. There are high expectations on Schick back home and everyone out there is hoping that he would eventually develop into a world-class forward.

A move to United may be a dream too big at the moment but if he gets fit quickly and keeps performing consistently, that may not be a tough task to achieve.

United already boast of a few exciting forwards in European football, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial manning the front line.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to return from injury soon, United’s forward line bears a great look. However, manager Jose Mourinho knows all too well that he can do with more creativity and pace up front. He could go for new names next season and Schick will have to keep performing to get noticed.
