“Just dont know why keep using Lingard” – Twitter Reacts To Man Utd’s Shock 2-1 Loss To Huddersfield

“We deserve this, the best team won,” said a certain Jose Mourinho after the game where his side conceded two easiest of goals, all down to individual errors.

Let me put it down this way; 78% of possession, more than 700 passes yet just three shots on target. This certainly looks like an improvement on what United performed at Anfield, but let me tell you this; the defence was spot on against Liverpool.

It all started with Juan Mata making an error right the stroke of half-way line and this allowed Huddersfield to go two on three against an ill-confident Manchester United defence. David De Gea came to the rescue in the first time of asking, but he could have done nothing to keep Mooy’s shot out.

That’s fine, just one goal conceded, nothing to fear. Well, I thought the same just some minutes before Phil Jones was taken off the field and Lindelof was introduced. A mountainous task was awaiting the Swede and he let his manager down soon after his introduction. Jonas Lossl sent a perfect long ball into United’s half and all Lindelof had to do was to connect the ball with a precised header, which he didn’t, and that allowed Depoitre to go one-v-one againt De Gea. BANG! Goal!

Replacing Mata and Martial at the stroke of half-time, a lot was expected in the second-half, but Huddersfield made sure they kept their record clean. Marching an all-out-defence tactic, Huddersfield brushed United’s attempt with relative ease.

Heading into the final 15 minutes, Marcus Rashford brought the light back by scoring from point-blank range, but little did he know that it will be his team’s only goal of the afternoon. A glorious chance fell off Chris Smalling’s way late in the game, but thanks to a marching defence, Huddersfield recorded their first league win over United in 65 years.

With that being done, United fans were left furious with the way the team performed and this is how they reacted:
