Jose Mourinho is growing increasingly confident that he will be able to lure Arsenal’s want-away superstar Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United next summer.

The Chilean international is bound to leave Emirates next summer and even the management and the fans are aware of this fact. He was widely tipped to leave this summer and a host of European clubs were credited with an interest.

Bayern Munich were initially linked with the attacker but the Bavarians pulled themselves out of the race and Manchester City remained the only contenders.

The Citizens, a couple of days before the deadline day, lodged a £50million bid for Sanchez, but the Gunners remained adament on their stance of not letting him go. Arsene Wenger, on his part, stated that Sanchez wants to stay, but let’s face it; that’s what he said during Fabregas’ and van Persie’s transfer to Barcelona and Manchester United respectively.

Independent quoted that after being rejected in their £50million attempt, the Sky Blues returned with an offer in the region of £60m, only to face a similar fate. There were rumours that Arsenal would accept City’s bid for the Chilean if they sent Raheem Sterling the other way, but Guardiola completely refuted those claims.

With that being done, the Gunners managed to retained the Copa America winner, but the uncertainty is still there, to say the least. Sanchez has entered the final year of his contract and at the end of the current season, he will be available for free. Arsenal are hopeful that they will be able to tie him down, but the probablity seems less as Sanchez is looking keen on making a move away from the club.

Having said that, The Sun has now claimed that Mourinho personally believes he will be able to lure him to the club next summer. In the process, however, United will have to ward Manchester City off as they are well and truly expected to approach him once again. A pre-season agreement though can be signed but it can only be done in 2019.
