As we get closer to the start of the 2017/18 season, are we about to hear the last in the transfer of Ivan Perisic? This item has obviously taken up so much space and time – both for the fans and the Old Trafford chiefs – but trust me, we are far from hearing the final word in this matter.

A report on fcinternews indicates that the player’s agent has reportedly paid a visit to the club chiefs to update them on the latest situation of the player. Exciting it may sound but by the look of it, the impasse is promising to hog all attention until the transfer window closes.

Differences In Valuation

It is not as if Inter do not want to sell him; agreed, but they want to hold him, as Perisic has been the lone beacon in what was otherwise a dismal 2016/17 season for them in Serie A. But the San Siro team knows that the player wants to move in search of European football and with the flux at Inter Milan set to continue for some more time, the Croatian winger wants the way out.

Working with Jose Mourinho is appealing for the player but there have been a lot of differences in valuations of both teams, with them still working on arriving at a suitable conclusion.

 Inter Want Martial On Loan

There was also the contention around Anthony Martial with the Serie A club insisting on including the French winger in the deal. Although Martial wasn’t a regular in his team last season, Mourinho sees him as vital this year and doesn’t want to lose him – even on loan.

Classic case of deadlock? The only thing missing is the player not agreeing to personal terms with the club but thankfully, the Old Trafford chiefs have got that thing out of the way.

Is This The End Of The Matter?

Agents generally have the right skills and leverage to push for deals and make things happen – think of Mino Raiola or Jorge Mendes. But Perisic’s agent Fali Ramadani is no Raiola and the deadlock is sure to continue for some more time.

Inter are preparing a new deal to offer the player to retain him beyond the summer and that should be an indicator. Did Ramadani come down to indicate that it is all over? Don’t be surprised if this saga continues with a different twist tomorrow!
