Report: Jose Mourinho Confirms His Interest To Sign 28-year Old – Ready To ‘fight’ For The Transfer

Jose Mourinho has just confirmed that he would be willing to sign Gareth Bale if the Welshman heads out of Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The Portuguese, as quoted by BBC, he further went on to say that he is ready to “fight with other coaches” for Bale’s signature if Real are ready to sell him.

It is widely believed that Real Madrid are considering making a move for AS Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe and the Frenchman’s arrival would mean someone from the ‘BBC’ will have to be compromised. And it is Bale who is the most fragile of them all. The former Tottenham man was plagued with constant injuries which restricted him to just 26 starts last season. He was also left on the bench in Real’s Champions League final against Juventus.

It is also believed that Madrid are concerned about Bale’s fitness and are ready to listen offers, with Express Sports claiming that both United and Chelsea are looking to add him in their roster. It also claims that both the clubs have already held the preliminary talks about a potential £90m move.

The Devils are up against the Galacticos in the UEFA Super Cup final, and speaking ahead of the game, Mourinho said that he is interested in signing Bale if Zidane doesn’t count him in his plans.

“If he’s playing tomorrow, well, no I wouldn’t think of that possibility of signing on (Bale). If he is playing tomorrow, it is because he is in the coach’s plans and in the club’s plans and because he also has that ambition to continue in Real Madrid.

“So I haven’t even thought of the possibility of signing him on our team.

“If he’s not in the club’s plans, if what you are writing right now is true – I am not sure whether it is or not – that the arrival of another player (would) perhaps (mean) Gareth would be on his way out.

“If he is on his way out of Real Madrid, well, I’ll try to be waiting for him on the other side and try to fight with other coaches that would also like to have him on his team.

“But I think that if he plays tomorrow, it is probably the best confirmation that they’ll keep counting on him during the season.”

All this might be some utter Mourinho mind games, but it will be interesting to see where this speculation ends up eventually.
