Man United Have Already Made The First Steps To Complete The 4th Transfer: Talks Scheduled With Agent

Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic is moving ever closer to a switch to Manchester United. The Croatian winger has agreed personal terms with United and a fee is to be agreed between the two clubs. United have been chasing Perisic all summer after Jose Mourinho identified him as one of his top targets.

Having already signed Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku, and Nemanja Matic this summer, Mourinho is in the market for a fourth-signing and it is Ivan Perisic.

Ironically, he was one of the first pursuits as United wanted to close out a deal for a player who was eager to work with Mourinho. However, the Italians were not willing to go down on their demand of £50million which became a stumbling roadblock.

Reports from Tuttosport (via The Express) now indicate that the Red Devils are planning to sit down with the player’s agent Fali Ramadani to try and close the deal. United are still reluctant to meet the Italian club’s asking price although they are confident of striking a deal. The Nerazzurri have been playing hard on the price tag, refusing to budge all summer.

In addition, they were even demanding French forward Anthony Martial on loan as part of any deal for Perisic.

Mourinho must keep Martial

One reason for Inter’s demand is the situation around their other winger Antonio Candreva who is reportedly a target for Chelsea.

Inter will be reluctant to lose both their wingers in the same window. Although Martial struggled under Mourinho to establish himself as a regular, his performances in the pre-season have been promising. The gaffer too is reluctant to allow him to leave yet, even on loan. That is perfectly understandable because the loss of form looks like a blip and Martial should prove valuable this season.

Perisic Will Add Value To The Squad

The Croatian international was one of the shining lights in what was otherwise a disastrous season last year for Inter. He scored 11 times and assisted another 11, strengthening his case for a move to Old Trafford.

Getting Perisic could be the order of business this week as we plan to close the deal by talking with his agent.

What do you think about Perisic’s addition to United?
