Deal Close – Manchester United Agree Terms To Sign Tottenham Target

Serge Aurier

Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier has agreed terms to join Manchester United, as per reports from the Express Sports. The same source further adds that the move has been hanging in the midst for a long time as a case against the Ivorian has been pending in the court.

The 24-year-old right back is regarded as one of the most brightest talents in footballing industry, but his off the pitch antics have limited his potential to an extent. Making his move to Parc des Princes from the fellow Ligue1 outfit Toulouse back in 2014, much was expected from the 24-year-old, but all has gone down the drain as his relationship with the managers at the club hasn’t been fruitful enough.

Furthermore, PSG’s current boss Unai Emery, while talking to L’Equipe, revealed that the Ivorian has asked to leave.

“I’ve spoken with Serge to tell him I wanted him to stay here and continue with us,” he told L’Equipe. “He told me that he wanted to leave and that he wanted to stay in Paris to prepare for going.

“So, we signed Dani Alves, a very experienced player who has the spirit of a champion.”

Manchester United, on their part, were reportedly eyeing a move for Monaco’s Fabinho, but with them failing to reach an agreement, Independent has credited Manchester United with an interest for Aurier. It further added that a deal worth £25m will be enough to land him at the Theatre of Dreams.

Once the player’s exit was made public, International Business Times reported that Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham, who are yet to make a signing thus far, have entered the foray. The Lilywhites recently shipped Kyle Walker off to Manchester City and are looking for a potential replacement. They sure have Kieran Trippier, who recently signed a new contract, but with the Champions League football to play for, Pochettino might look to add sustainable depth.

Spurs’ desire have now been dealt a huge blow as Manchester United have agreed terms with player, with the only thing remaining to be cleared off is the result of his pending court case.
