Deal Close – Manchester United Ready To Sign £27.5m Bayern Munich Star, But For a 1 Year Loan Move

Manchester United could be on the cusp of signing Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich on loan. The Sun reports that Jose Mourinho is hopeful of finalising a deal for the 19-year-old Portuguese midfielder quickly and provide him with the chance to develop, in England.

The Metro also carries quotes from Bayern Munich’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, where he claimed that the 19-year-old could be loaned out for first team experience.

“He is a player who needs to play regularly. So if we feel he is not going to get enough game time, then we will loan him out, or maybe even sell him.”

The CEO further added that Sanches did not get a lot of chances last season but blamed it on the player rather than the manager Carlo Ancelotti.

“Last season, particularly after the winter break, he didn’t get enough appearances. That wasn’t because of the coach, it was because of (Sanches) himself.”

There is a lot of interest in the youngster and even AC Milan are looking to bring him over to the San Siro but his wage demands seem to be a bit of a problem for the Serie A side.

“I can confirm that AC Milan have got in touch with us, but I have the impression that they are not able to meet our financial demands.”

Sanches joined Bayern for a huge fee of £27.5million last season but the Portuguese youngster failed to make an impression for the Bavarian giants and only played 17 times in the Bundesliga, with just 6 of them being from the start.

He was poor in front of goal and recorded no goals or assists for Bayern and it does seem like he needs a bit of a chance to prove his ability once again. Moving away from Bayern will give him a chance to do just that and playing under Mourinho would be perfect for him since the manager is willing to give chances ahead of a packed season coming up.

Sanches does have the talent to become a world class player but that was stunted by his rather poor showings for Bayern last season. The 19-year-old would provide us with a decent option to have in midfield.

A pairing of Paul Pogba and Sanches, if dealt with correctly, could turn out to be great for us and we could end up signing Sanches for the cheap after the end of the season.
