Former Manchester United star Phil Neville has stated that Jose Mourinho will bring a lot more success to the club next season, as long as he signs quality players for us.

Last season, the first one for Mou as United manager, ended on a high as we won the Europa League and ensured a place in the Champions League.

Phil, however, believes there is a lot more to come from this United team. The former defender also added that we have to bring in quality players to the side as almost every one of our rivals will be spending in the market and signing players.

As quoted by the Express, Neville said:

“I think it was a brilliant season last year and it finished well with the Europa League. Now we’re looking to see who Jose signs because, if you look at the top six clubs, I think they will all strengthen. United have to strengthen and it’ll be interesting to see which team strengthens the most.”

The Englishman also added that we are constantly linked with big name players and also claims that Mou will win the Premier League and won’t stop until he does it.

“Now, every time I pick up a paper, another player is linked with United but I’m sure Jose will bring success, like he did last season, and ultimately, hopefully, bring the title back to Manchester. United are going to have to improve as well because they didn’t finish in the top four last season. Even that is a big ask, but I think Jose will want to win the Premier League. That’s the big one. He won’t settle for anything less.”

Hopefully, Neville is right as we did struggle a bit last season thanks to all those frustrating draws at Old Trafford. Had we actually won a few of those games, we would have certainly been in the top four.

Next season, however, has to be a different story as the Premier League title is the one we all want to win now. Mourinho does have a decent base of players in the team but we need more match winners in the squad, something that was missing last season.

Zlatan was the one player that seemed to turn things around for us but he was not given a new contract, which does seem to be a little daft, to be honest. Mou has a tough job at hand but given his track record, he will win us the league come what may.
