Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj might be moving closer towards an exit, according to Daily Mail. The winger clearly does not have a future at Old Trafford after failing to impress in his loan spell at Sunderland – which might have been his last opportunity to make an impression. Januzaj came through the ranks at Manchester United and was one of the few positives for the club in the ill-fated 2013-14 season. However, he has since struggled to rediscover his magic touch and this has led to loans spells at the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland.

Yet, the player only has 12 months left on his contract and it looks like he will not be offered a new deal by manager Jose Mourinho. Rather than losing the player on a free transfer, it is reported that United will consider selling the 22-year-old. There is a reasonable amount of interest in the player with Spanish outfit Real Sociedad branded as the favourites for his signature.

A number of Premier League youngsters who has struggled to shine have been able to excel in the Spanish La Liga. Even Real Sociedad experienced a reasonable amount of success with former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela, and it seems that the club once again keen on such a transfer, especially after having sealed a Europa League spot for the 2017-18 season.

Real Sociedad and United are locked in talks over a transfer of Januzaj, with a fee reported to be in the region of £8.8 million. This would represent a sizable transfer figure for a player who does not have a future at the club. Manchester United, though, are aware that Januzaj has the potential to excel. Hence, the club are ready to safeguard any future mishaps by inserting a sell-on fee for any club looking to buy the player.

Still just 22 years old, Januzaj has the capability to get his career back on track with regular first-team football at a place where he can call as a home. Even though he has failed to do much in his loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland, Januzaj has shown that he will be able to deliver when the manager places faith in him. In the 2013-14 season with Manchester United – which was also his debut campaign, Januzaj managed to come up with four goals and three assists in just 15 starts.
