He came, he was on track to conquering England and it was just an unfortunate injury that stopped him from doing so. Zlatan Ibrahimovic shook the Premier League at the age of 35 and shut the critics up in style. He was carrying the team on his shoulders until a knee injury ruled him out of action, eventually ending his season. A lot of speculation was going on regarding the giant Swede’s future and today the club has confirmed that he will not be retained.
It has been confirmed by BBC that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be retained by the club and that he will move on once his contract expires this month.
He was there for just one season but he has given us a lot of memories. What a player he is! The remarkable Swede will remain a hero at Old Trafford despite his short stint with the club. He made a total of 46 appearances in all competitions and contributed to 38 goals. He scored 28 and set up 10 for his mates, eventually turning out to be an unbelievable piece of business by Manchester United.
Certainly, he is loved by the footballing world, and more so by the Manchester United fans after his season of heroics. The United faithful took Twitter to express their feeling about Zlatan’s departure.
Here are some of the tweets we came across. Read on!
