Manchester United Transfer News

James Rodriguez has been seen as one of the top players available in the upcoming summer transfer window. Real Madrid would be glad to see the back of the Colombian, despite having signed him only a couple of years ago, as manager Zinedine Zidane does not see him fit in his plans. However, having such an expensive player sitting on the bench has not been good to the team morale. As a result, Madrid are willing to let him go, but they are not ready to do so on the cheap.

This means that only a handful of clubs will be able to afford the transfer fee requested by Real Madrid along with wages of around £120,000 per week. Even though his career may have been on a downhill pattern since joining Madrid, there is no doubt in the astonishing abilities. Reportedly (calciomercato), Manchester are linked with a summer move for the Madrid attacker. The report also suggest that this transfer is a phase two of Mourinho’s summer transfer plans. The first phase involves signing French striker Antoine Griezmann and Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva for a mammoth fee of around £170m.

This season, Rodriguez has featured only in 17 appearances for Madrid in all competitions. Wayne Rooney is also expected to leave the club after almost being neglected by Jose Mourinho in recent weeks. The striker played 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Burnley, but this was only his fourth appearance in the league since February. He is widely seen as being on the verge of joining a Chinese Super League outfit in the summer.

Hence, Rodriguez will be a good signing for Manchester United and if everything goes as per these reports, this trio (Silva, Griezmann, and Rodriguez) will tear apart Premier league defence next season.
