Manchester United are believed to be in for Brazilian midfielder Anderson Talisca, who is valued at around £21million. The South American plays for Turkish club Beşiktaş and joined them in the summer of 2016.
It has also been reported that Liverpool were close to signing the player before he moved to Turkey. However, the deal fell through due to work permit issues.
It has been claimed that United are ready to table a £21m bid after telling his parent club Benfica that they want to sign him.
Jose Mourinho recently encountered a heavy midfield crisis, where he was left without Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata for the Premier League game against West Brom. The game ended in a goalless draw, but Jose will be happy to welcome Herrera back for United’s next fixture.
This would probably have struck Mourinho and now Manchester United have been linked with Talisca. He is just 23-years old and has been showing steady progress ever since he moved to Portugal.
It might be a good move as United need some quality midfielders in their ranks, who can step up for the team whenever required. Talisca primarily plays as an attacking midfielder and is impressive in doing so.
He has made 25 appearances this season and has scored 10 goals. He also has 5 assists to his name and notably, he got a goal in the Champions League as well. His experience of playing in the Champions League will come in handy for Manchester United as they are well positioned to command a top-4 finish come end of the season.
His time with Benfica was an extremely productive one for him as a player, as he contributed with 20 goals for the club in the 78 appearances he made. Last summer, he moved to Beşiktaş on loan and so far, he has been having a productive season.
A youth product of Bahia, Talisca moved to Benfica in the summer of 2014 and hasn’t looked back at all. He is highly rated and he did well after moving to Europe, as he adjusted to the surroundings quite quickly. He surely would be a great addition for Manchester United, who would do well to bring in a quality player like Anderson Talisca into the team.
