Manchester United have had their ups and downs throughout the current campaign but it is fair to say that the club is dictating itself into the right direction. Being the only English club competing in the four different cup competition has had its toll on the players, but Mourinho – who is known for his rigidness in the transfer speculations – has handled the authorities well.

The way he dealt with the negotiation of both Schneiderlin and Depay was worth mentioning as the club almost gathered the amount they paid for the players. Not surprisingly, Winter window is almost over without much of happenings but the Summer transfer window will be a whole different thing with many ins and outs are expected to happen. Wayne Rooney has been touted as one of the players to leave the premises in the summer, but quite recently, Mourinho has spoken about the possible departure of Ashley Young.

Big names have been linked with an arrival in the summer, hence, it is fair to say that an overhaul is expected during the summer window and to make Mourinho’s task quite easier, here we give you three players he should take a deep look at-

  • Davy Klaassen-

This name has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now and maybe the summer window would be a perfect time to finally bring him in. The 23-year-old Ajax skipper has been a complete revelation this season as he has scored eight goals and has further assisted five times and the fact that he is an attacking midfielder by trait would certainly uplift the Old Trafford spectators.

Antoine Griezmann is the player with a similar irk – also linked with the Devils – but if the deal fails, mainly due to the heavy price tag, this 23-year-old attacking midfielder would be a realistic replacement. United certainly have not been very successful with the players coming from Eredivisie recently, but the fact that Klaassen has a great experience of playing in Europe’s elite tournament, for some time now, might tempt Mourinho in making a move.

Besides, his style of play is exactly what Mourinho demands from his players. Despite being an offensive personnel, Klaassen averages three defensive actions per game and has also won 28 of his 55 attempted tackles. Klaassen is worth playing a gamble.

  • Saul Niguez-

Unarguably one of the most underrated midfielders in Europe, the 22-year-old could be a worthy replacement of the ageing Michael Carrick. Linked with a sensational move to the Old Trafford, Saul is known for his technical vision and his on-field chemistry with the players. Furthermore, the Spaniard’s versatility will make him a great option for Mourinho as he can play anywhere – from deep midfield to attacking midfield – in the central zone, and this is the spot that needs a certain reinforcement.

With Fellaini not a constant presence and Carrick isn’t getting any younger, there surely is a need to bring a central midfielder to compliment Herrera and Saul can well be the one. He is known to go missing at times, but at this point in his career, he still has enough time to improve his skill sets.

Since the era of Roy Keane, United have been known to have one of the best midfields in the sport, but that tradition is surely fading as Carrick is the last of those resorts. Keeping that in mind, a move for Saul can be opted and even though he won’t be coming any cheap, he will be worth every penny.

  • Romelu Lukaku-

Believe it or not, this 23-year-old Mourinho’s outcast would be a great signing for the Devils in years to come. Even after his team’s struggles for many years, the Belgian international has shown his quality in front of the net and even in this season, he has scored 12 goal – just 2 shy of the current top scorers.

Imagine what kind of damage he can do when given the services of Mkhitaryan, Mata and Martial – A deadly combination isn’t it? He surely isn’t the one to do the defensive duties, but he can rescue your team in difficult times. His invaluable experience in the Premier League is a plus point and he could well end up as a club legend if he can maintain his consistency level.

Known for his keen eye for goal, the 23-year-old is a nightmare for the oppositions. Not to long back, the Evertonian was linked with an exit and was expressing his desire to play in Europe, hence, a move to Old Trafford might be on the cards. Lukaku is destined for more and Old Trafford club can certainly give him what he deserves.
