Manchester United Offer £220,000-a-week To This Euro Finalist

Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba are big pals with the French national team

A lot has been said about the speculation of Antoine Griezmann and according to the latest reports from the Sun Sport, the Red Devils are ready to offer a staggering £220,000-a-week salary – plus identical bonus – to the 25-year-old French attacker and should the negotiation succeeds, the former Real Sociedad man will become a joint top earner at Manchester United alongside Paul Pogba.

Manchester United have been monitoring the situation of the 25-year-old forward, who signed a new contract with the Los Rojiblancos back in June 2016. His progress in the Spanish league has been phenomenal and it was earlier reported that United’s rival, Chelsea are interested in his signature too, but given the relationship Greizmann carries with Paul Pogba and his brother’s inclination towards the Red Devils, United have an upper hand in the negotiation.

Furthermore, it was understood that Griezmann was playing for the Madrid-based club mainly because of their manager Diego Simone, but as the Argentine has deduced his contract with Atletico Madrid by two years, it is quite certain that Griezmann will end up joining the Old Trafford outfit sooner rather than later.

The speculation will certainly not come in handy for United as the Rojiblancos will only sell their star man only when United are ready to meet Griezmann’s £86 million release clause. United have not reached the conclusion of the negotiation, but the aforementioned report has suggested that they are ready to pay a hefty sum for the player.

The 25-year-old, in the past, has mentioned that he would love to play alongside Paul Pogba at the club and this could well be a chance for both the club and the player. With Wayne Rooney’s legs not helping his cause anymore, Griezmann could well be the one to replace the English no 10. So far, the French attacker has scored six goals and has further assisted four in 15 appearances which is quite a decent outcome.

The Sun has also reported that the Red Devils have appointed some top agents to conclude the negotiation and the chiefs have already discussed the personal terms with Griezmann’s representative in the recent weeks.

Should the negotiation goes well, United will become one of attacking powerhouse in the league, but that the move may affect some of the youngsters in the team. Mkhitaryan, Pogba and Ibrahimovic will be the starters and if Griezmann arrives, he will take one of the flanks which will leave the players like Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford on the bench, but as the old saying goes; “We have to Lose something to get something.”
