Martial To Return? Possible 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Line Up To Face Liverpool

Klopp-mou

A big game is coming up for Manchester United in coming days, as they have been scheduled for a trip to Anfield to face their arch rivals, Liverpool. They were beating their Merseyside rivals like anything until the day Jurgen Klopp stepped up to take the charge of the club.

Even in the last season, the Devils went on win the home fixture by 3-1 and then conquered Anfield by a goal to nil, but the stream has been reversed this time around. Looking at the recent form of both the clubs, Liverpool are having a far better campaign than the Devils. Mourinho’s men started the season well, but following that sloppy 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, their season went downhill.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have only been beaten once and since then, their form has escalated like anything. Be it the defence or the offence, the Merseysiders have totally dominated their time on the pitch; hence, it will be a stern test for the Red Devils.

Klopp is a confident man and so is Mourinho, but the way both the tacticians address their authorities differentiates them. The managers met during their times at Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund and we all are aware how the Germans out casted the Spanish from their berth.

Mourinho has a point to prove, and here is how he can line his team up:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea-

Absolutely no doubt about it! The Spanish shot-stopper will be guarding the post against the fiery Liverpool attackers who love to test the stoppers from range. The former Atletico Madrid man will be looking to add a clean-sheet to his tally, something he has failed to achieve since the Manchester Derby. A sure starter for the side.

Defence: Valencia; Bailly; Smalling; Blind-

Antonio Valencia will be starting from his familiar position and will be looking forward to cut the comedy for the players like Milner and Coutinho. While the former will be exploiting the gaps, the latter will be firing his cylinders with his blistering pace, hence, a tough job to handle.

Bailly and Smalling will surely be starting as a pair and in that case, they will have to be on their toes. We all are aware of the fact that Liverpool wingers loves to cut deep to create chances and this is where the defence splits apart.

BAILLY (1)

Bailly has been performing greatly, but his aggression might cost the side any minute, hence, he need to kept his composure. Then on the left, Blind is expected to retain his spot. Shaw may have returned to the training, but throwing him out on the pitch directly against Liverpool may not be the best thing to go with.

Holding Pair: Herrera; Pogba-

Probably the most important task on the pitch will be given to these two. Pogba has always been given his licence to go forward, but against a team like Liverpool, he needs to work like a horse. Lallana and Wijnaldum may miss the game, but both Henderson and Can are well capable of taking the mantle.

Herrera, on the other hand, will surely be pressed up high Liverpool’s midfield hence, he needs to keep his cool in the centre of the park. Besides that, he too will be an important figure for the side in the night.

Attacking Trio: Rashford; Mata; Martial-

Fans will be looking forward to see the young Marcus Rashford into the team sheet against the rivals. The 18-year-old will be up against James Milner, hence his pace will no longer his weapon. He needs to read the game technically and will have to combine well with Mata.

The Spanish midfield will most probably be starting ahead of Wayne Rooney in the number 10 role and will be looking forward to replicate the last season’s result, where he scored with an amazing acrobatic kick.

Furthermore, Anthony Martial might return in the starting XI after missing the number of games. The Frenchman came on as a substitute against the Potters last time out and scored the opened, which was later cancelled out by the former Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.

Striker: Ibrahimovic-

The 35-year-old will be guiding the lines for the club for sure. The former PSG man hasn’t scored a goal since the Manchester Derby and hence, he has a point to make. Often seen as going missing in the games, Ibrahimovic will have to be on his best on the night.
