The speculation regarding Paul Pogba to Manchester United is really becoming noisome now. The negotiation started when the Devils offered 85 million to Juventus, but the Turin club rejected the offer stating that the player is worth more than that and will only listen to the offers of around 100 million.

Soon after that got viral, Pogba’s agent, from nowhere, stated that there is nothing going on between the two parties. No one knows what is going on in there, but one thing is certain; if the player arrives at the Theatre of Dreams, he would get the most amazing reception from the Old Trafford spectators and that would really help the team to lift themselves up.

Now, after Jose Mourinho’s first press conference, it was understood that the manager will be signing four players, and so far, three has already been concluded and Pogba is the final one, yet many still believe that United still needs  a reinforcement in the midfield as  all the current midfielders have failed to do what was expected.

Now, according to the recent reports, Manchester United have enquired about Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup. The 23-year-old Turkish international has impressed many top managers and according to the sources, it is Mourinho, who is keen on luring the youngster to the Old Trafford. With the future of Schweinsteiger and Fellaini looking uncertain, it is safe to say that Ozyakup could be a great option for the club.

Who is Oguzhan Ozyakup?

The 23-year-old Turkish professional started his footballing career as a schoolboy in 2008 with Arsenal’s youth academy and Reserves team as well. He failed to put a mark on Wenger’s might, but he did make a couple of appearances for the Gunners in the league club and marked an assist to Yossi Benayoun.

The Turk was also named as a substitute in Arsenal’s 8-2 defeat against Manchester United. After not getting the game time he solely deserved, the midfielder signed for Besiktas in 2011. In his very first season with the Turkish side, he made 30 appearances in all competition and scored two goals and wrapped an impressive eight assists. He eventually became a first team regular for the side and till date, he has 142 appearances to his name for Besiktas and has 22 goals and 32 assists to his name.

Style of Play:

The 23-year-old is described as an attacking minded central midfielder, who loves to create chances for the team, rather than scoring the goals by himself. His style can be compared to Manchester United’s Michael Carrick as both loves to command the game from the spot, but what differs them is their pace. Like many other youngsters, he loves to drive himself forward at times, and thanks to his fulgent work rate, his efforts usually pay off.

Ozyakup is also known for his maturity, and that allows him to be at the right place on the pitch.

His wonderful dribbling skills have attracted the comparison of Zinedine Zidane and many believe that he possesses the quality that could make him a world class player at some point.

What he needs is a stage for him to grow that Arsenal failed to provide and now, Manchester United could well be the spot he solely deserves. What the 23-year-old needs to work on is his physical strength, as we all are aware of the fact that Premier League demands extra fitness/work rate, hence, he might suffer in this attribute. Besides that, he is often criticized for his lack of contribution in defence and is also poor in the pressing game, and that is the one thing that Mourinho would never want from his players.

As stated, he is an attacking player with a great flair, but the diamond is still a rough one and we are pretty sure that working under Mourinho will give him that cutting edge he solely deserve.
