Morgan Schneiderlin

The squad is out on the tour, while United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reportedly staying in Europe handling the speculation of Paul Pogba. The Devils of the Manchester started their bid with 85 million, but the Turin club rejected their offer, expressing that only a bid of around 100 million would be expected. The entire speculation regarding the same has been stunned by Pogba’s agent Mino Riola as he recently stated that there is nothing going on between the two parties.

Well, the entire world knows what is going on in there and we are pretty sure that almost entire Manchester United followers are eager to see their prodigal son Paul Pobga back in United’s shirt. It is now clearly understood what Jose Mourinho need is a central midfielder. Looking at the current situation, Manchester United have Ander Herrera, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Scheiderlin for the spot, and of course Wayne Rooney, but the manager has made himself very clear that he won’t be using the Englishman in the midfield.

Well, there are many pros of signing Pogba, but there are some cons as well and the utmost con is the future of the rest of the players. It is certain that Pogba will be the first choice midfielder for the manager; hence, the future of some other members will come in doubt. If the rumours are believed, then Everton are currently looking to sign Morgan Schneiderlin. At Everton, the Frenchman will be working with his former boss Ronald Koeman and at Goodison Park, the 26-year-old could easily get a proper game time, which he clearly missed last season.

The Frenchman arrived at the Theatre of Dreams last summer and had a great reputation, but he failed miserably as he dipped his form entirely and besides that, injuries affected him as well. There is no doubt that he is one of the finest players on the field, but should he really leave United to join Everton?

Well, I don’t think so! We cannot judge him in just one season. Schneiderlin is a kind of player, who rarely scores or assists, but his presence on the field is what matters. The Frenchman is known for his physical, yet well-timed approach in the game. Even if Pogba signs for United, Scheiderlin can be used as a defensive midfielder. Yes, it is sure that Mourinho won’t be playing Michael Carrick in every game and for that spot; Scheiderlin is the perfect option rather than Schweinsteiger.

The 26-year-old is still an important asset to the team and he easily can play the role of Matic under Mourinho. In 2014/15 when Chelsea won the title, Matic was one of the finest performers for Mourinho and that is what Scheiderlin is capable of replicating. It is safe to say that he is known for his maturity in the game and due to that, he controls the tempo of it.

Yes, he will have to fight for the spot, for me, he is the perfect successor of Michael Carrick. A cool and composed figure on the ball, who loves to distribute the ball from the deep midfield. And that is why, we still think that he should remain at United.
