Manchester United are set for a new season under former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who will be leading the Red Devils for the International champions cup fixtures against Borussia Dortmund and then Manchester City. United are however still linked with a move for a few more players.

Portuguese player Joao Mario, who is being pursued by United, will not be let go of by Sporting this summer as the club’s president insists that they are not ready to sell the 23 year old. The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move Manchester United over the last few months, but Sporting’s president insists they’re not prepared to sell one of their prized assets.

De Carvalho has adamantly rejected reports Joao Mario could leave the club this summer, telling O Jogo:

“I understand he is a player who is much appreciated but I want to reiterate our position.

“We do not sell our best players, we have a clearly defined project here. The fact may be that clubs are interested in Joao Mario, but that does not concern us.

“It just makes us proud because it means we are on track. I really hope that in a week’s time, when we start preparing [for the new season], the coach will have all of his players available.”

Juan Mata, whose future at United is uncertain due to his former history with Mourinho, who was the one to sell him to United from Chelsea during their time at the Stamford Bridge, has dismissed suggestions that he can move out of the Old Trafford this summer. The player has been linked with a move to Everton in the recent weeks, however the player has now dismissed the same. In addition to that Zlatan Ibrahimovic too has not been confirmed which shirt he will be playing in as he earlier believed that he will be replacing Mata, however there has been no clarification of the same to both the players.
