If reports from German paper Sportsbild are to be believed Manchester United are lining up a bid for Swiss striker Breel Embolo. Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the 19 year old Basel striker and has also been rumoured to offer him a £4million per year deal that the player is considering. Embolo scored 12 goals in 35 appearances last season, which is a rather healthy return for a player of his age and would add to the attacking firepower at Old Trafford for the coming season.
In Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, the club already boasts of incredibly talented attacking youngsters and the addition of Embolo would be a welcome move for most Manchester United fans. The player, who has been dubbed as the next Didier Drogba by the Daily Star has drawn a lot of interest from big clubs across Europe, especially with the likes of Juventus, Liverpool and Barcelona interested in signing the player.
However, given United’s financial muscle and Mourinho’s reputation as a world class manager, it remains unlikely that other clubs will be able to lure the player away from signing for Manchester United.
