New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has requested a conversation with Phil Jones when the defender returns from holiday.
With the recent signing of Eric Bailly the future of the whole defense is in doubt as Jose Mourinho’s preference in defense is different than that of Louis Van Gaal. However Goal has reported that the player will be given assurances about his spot at Manchester United and it is likely that Daley Blind will be shown the door in the summer. Phil Jones was one of the most promising players when he joined Manchester United in 2011. He shone under Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes, but did not match the style of Louis Van Gaal.
Given that Jose Mourinho applies similar strategies as Sir Alex in the field, it is likely that Jones will be afforded more game time at Old Trafford. The player made just one appearance in 2016 against Swansea city which United won 2-1.
