Manchester United Player Ratings vs Leicester City (Extended Highlights Included)

Anthony Martial

The most awaited game of the weekend ended up in an old fashioned draw. Leicester City will now have to wait for another weekend to kiss the premier League trophy as they managed to hold Manchester United at Old Trafford. There were plenty of talking points in the game, plenty of fouls and some game changing decisions.

Manchester United Player Ratings vs Leicester

De Gea 6/10- Was tough in the game as he deflected a cross that was going in, and besides that, he was not tested by the visitors at all.

Valencia 7/10- Valencia has shown a great improvement lately and has improved his crossing abilities as well. He is a tireless worker for the club and giving him some more playing time would help his case a lot. Had an assist to his name and was defensively strong as well.

Smalling 6/10- Didn’t had much work to do, but showed a real character while defending the set pieces as Morgan  and Huth were causing problems at times.

Blind 6.5/10- He did his job well. Played a more diagonal position this time and surprisingly, he kept Ulloa silent in the entire game.

Rojo 4/10- Once again, not at his best. Struggled a lot against the trickery of Mahrez and was loose in his passes as well. Made some good forward runs, but did nothing at defense.

Carrick 6.5/10- Commanded the entire midfield with a good distribution. His passes were pin-point and his tackles were perfect.

Fellaini 6.5/10- Started the game in the midfield, but majorly played up front. Had a good first half where he showed real desire, but didn’t had any impact in the second half. He could face a ban though for elbowing Huth.

Rooney 6/10- An average performance by the skipper. His distribution and his defensive prowess were good, but he lacked in the final third. Could have contributed more by combining with the attacking trio.

Lingard 6/10- Had a shot on target which was saved by Schmeichel. Had a glorious chance in the first half where he intercepts the sloppy pass from Simpson, but was unable to beat the defender in sprinting. Didn’t do much in the second half and was substituted eventually.

Martial 7.5/10- He was the best performer for United in the game. Scored the goal and created many chances as well. He was quick in his running and was able to beat the defenders easily, but lacked in finishing.

Rashford 5/10- He was nowhere near his previous form. Did nothing in the entire game and was eventually snubbed off for Depay.

Subs: Depay 4/10- Came in place of Rashford and was deployed on the left flank. Had a chance to score from a freekick, but fired it on the wall.

Mata 5.5/10- Didn’t had much time on the pitch, but tried to find the holes in the Leicester’s defence.

Ander Herrera N/A- Came in place of Fellaini and didn’t had much time do make an impact on the game.
