Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Neymar as the player and his current club Barcelona are unable to come to a conclusion in their contract negotiation.
The player was heavily linked with Manchester United in the summer and reportedly a bid was also turned down by the Catalan club. Post that event Barcelona are keen to renew the contract of Neymar but the wage demand of the player is the major thorn in the path as per the reports from Don Balon. The Catalan club is looking to rebuild Camp Nou and the enormous expense and an increased wage bill of Neymar is likely to put a major financial dent in their pocket. Logic dictates that they sell one of their forwards and Neymar seems like the most expendable.
Manchester United are ready to meet Neymar’s release clause at £150m as per the report and most likely would be willing to meet his wage demands as well. Shall we see Neymar at Old Trafford next season? Only time will tell.
