Why United Should Dodge The Bullet By Not Signing This Speed Monster

Player Profile:

Ever since he scored 2 goals in his first 3 games for Arsenal in the 2011-12 season, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been touted as one of the most exciting prospects in English football. The Englishman joined the Gunners from Southampton for a reported fee of 15 million pounds, and went on to become youngest English goalscorer inUEFA Champions League history and has also claimed a regular place in the England Under-21s team. “The Ox”, as his fans call him, has also made over a 100 appearances for Arsenal, both as a central midfielder and a winger.

Reports:

Some media houses in England ,especially ESPN have claimed that Manchester United are eyeing a deal to sign the talented, but inconsistent 22-year-old. His current wages of 52,000 £ a week won’t be a problem for the club, and despite Arsene Wenger personally assuring that he won’t sell any more of his players to us after the Robin van Persie saga, Ed Woodward is absolutely certain that he will get the job done.

Possible problems:

One of the many problems of signing Alex is the fact that if he is deemed surplus to Arsenal’s requirements, he will be probably treated the same way with us. Of course, he may go on to fulfil his unquestionable potential, it will come at the cost of sacrificing Martial, Depay, Januzaj or Lingard, all of whom have the capability to play on the wings. Even in midfield, there is hardly a spot vacant, as we already have Bastian Schweinsteiger, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Morgan Schneiderlin there. With the Red Devils also reportedly ready to sign the highly rated young midfielder Renato Sanches, it makes no sense to pay bags of money for someone who has not, so far offered a lot of creative sparks but relies more on his physical built and mediocre passing abilities. We already have Fellaini for that, thank you!
