Why Manchester United Should Transfer List This Belgian Midfielder ASAP

The Belgian midfielder, Marouane Fellaini has been somewhat a villain for United fans since his arrival in September 2013. He hasn’t been able to prove his worth.

Fellaini was David Moyes’ first signing as Manchester United’s manager. The ex-Everton player was approached by his former boss to join Red Devils after seeing him developing into a strong and intimidating midfielder.

Fellaini was part of Everton for five years and played a key role in Moyes’ squad, developing a worthy impression on the Scottish manager.

However, his career at United isn’t as respectable as it was earlier. From becoming the player who was often plaudit for his outstanding performances to the one who is used as a scapegoat, Fellaini’s career at the Manchester club is in doubt. Many feel that Marouane Fellaini has become a scapegoat at United and can have a good future in any other club.

Having an average passing accuracy of 83% and shooting accuracy of only 54% this season being a midfielder, the Belgian international isn’t anywhere close to the standards of Manchester United. Fellaini who was also known as one of the best central defensive midfielders in the Premier League, has only the tackle success rate of only 37%. His aerial duels stats also quite prove his poor form, having the aerial success rate of 48% in spite of being 6 feet 4 inches.

Fellaini is also not adjusted well in Louis van Gaal’s playing XI. The Dutch boss has defended the Belgian on certain occasions claiming that he has “a lot of qualities”. But according to facts and what we’ve witnessed is that with Fellaini on pitch, the passing game becomes slower than it already is and the team loses creativity in attacking. The former Toffees star does however, provide great aerial threat and strength to the team, but that is not what’s most required and doesn’t really come in handy as much.

His disruptiveness has repeatedly resulted in criticism from supporters, pundits and players. The Belgian conceded six fouls in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash. He has committed a total of 25 fouls in 893 minutes played in the English Premier League, making the average fouls per game count to 1.7.

Marouane Fellaini should consider moving elsewhere if he still wants to save his career. There is a tough chance for him to become of the star players at Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal should transfer list the player and accept a decent bid that comes in their war, and calling it a day.
