As per some reports, a formal offer has been made by Manchester United for Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto. The club is under pressure after some unimpressive display and are keen to add more firepower to the forward line. Louis Van Gaal seems to think the Japanese player a suitable element that will be able to add more edge to his possession based games.
United is reported to have bid £12million for the Mainz forward. Louis Van Gaal who has his root deeply dug into Bundesliga is said to be following the striker for some time. His earlier acquisition Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich has not had the impact on Manchester United team as expected. He will hope to compensate that with Muto. Muto has scored seven goals in 18 matches so far this season which is more than any United forward.
If the reports are to be believed and a formal offer has already been made, then we may very well see the Japanese Messi old Trafford from February onwards.
