Marquinhos has been a very good player at the age of 21. The only problem is that he is currently in the third player in the pecking order at PSG. As a result he is always a topic of speculation in France being young and talented with all the other clubs on the prowl.
Recently in an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche, he mentioned that he wants to play in the first team.
He said: “Like everyone else, I always look to make the first-team, but you have to respect the manager’s decisions. I will keep on working to earn my spot, but it’s true there will come a time where I won’t want to do that anymore.
“You can’t always get used to sit on the bench. There’s six months left to win titles and become a regular starter. After, we’ll see what happens.”
With news that Chelsea and Manchester United are looking to get him, he feels confident that he is doing a good job. Last summer Chelsea made a bid to sign him but was turned down on deadline day by PSG ownder Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
In February, the player’s agent mentioned that Manchester United were also interested in the young player. It is unlikely that the player will move in January considering that PSG is still in every competition and he will be getting some game time. However a summer move is very well possible.
