Manchester United have been lacklustre in front of goal so far this season. Their lack of options is also hurting them. With Javier Hernandez and Robin Van Persie being sold and James Wilson being loaned out, Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial are their only options. Rooney’s abysmal form has not helped them either. United have only scored 22 goals this season which puts them in 12th place. In terms of chances created, they’re in 17th place with only 146. Although Anthony Martial has done a good job since arriving from Monaco, he’s only 20 years old and has a lot to learn. With Rooney in the decline; United might need a new striker much sooner than they would have thought. Here are three players they can sign.
Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian International has been on absolute fire this season. He scored a brace in Everton’s 4-3 defeat to Stoke City making him the joint highest scorer in the league this season with 15 goals. He’s been in a rich vein of form this season scoring in 8 consecutive games before the 1-0 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day. He also became the 12th player in Everton’s history to score 50 goals in his first 100 games for the club. The Belgian also gives an added physical presence which United desperately need during set pieces. He is just 22 years old and would be a good option to lead United’s attack.
