Gunners Laughing About AVB Going To Spurs Should Stop Laughing

Manchester United fans were feeling sick in the aftermath of the final minutes of the last day of the Premier League and understandably so as Manchester City claimed the title in unbelievable circumstances.

On the same day Arsenal were gifted a 3-2 win over West Brom in Roy Hodgson’s final game in charge of the midland-side thanks to some calamitous goalkeeping from Martin Fulop – who incidentally is a former Man  City player, for those who wanted to know that.

The win secured Arsenal third place in the table and Champions League football above bitter-rivals Spurs who had to make do with fourth place and a place in the Champions League qualifying round place…

..Or so they thought as Chelsea went and beat Bayern Munich cruelly consigning Spurs to the Europa League. Of course since then Harry Redknapp’s left Spurs to be replaced by that dashing young amigo Andre Villas-Boas who has swooped to sign Gylffi Siggurdson right of the noses of Liverpool and Swansea City.

Arsenal fans were taking the mickey out of Spurs fans last night saying that they’d employed a ‘Chelsea reject’ who couldn’t hack it in England despite being the right man at the wrong time when he was appointed last year by Roman Ambramovich.

Now though with today’s announcement that Robin van Persie will not be extending his contract at Arsenal and that if rumours are to believe he is on his way to Man City, Arsenal fans must be dreading next season.

They should think on the positive though. They can get the best part of £25-30m for RVP now (at least that’s what they should do) buy the talent whilst they can as they might not be able to bring in the big-names next season if they are playing in the Europa League, which is a competition that but for Fulop’s howlers they would be participating in this coming season.

Isn’t football a small world afterall.

  1. As a Spurs fan, I'm liking this article. One small caveat, however. Perhaps the valuation is a little steep. There's no doubting that RVP is a supremely talented player. He pretty much won Arsenal third place on his own last season. But 25-30 mill for a player in the last year of his contract?

  2. Like Van the man said during his PFA ceremony, those incredible goals would not have come but for the team, all those assists from Song, Walcott and the rest of the team. Did he fly during the Euros? Not apart from his one goal he created himself. Same during the Wolrd Cup – he was pretty anonymous. He has had one and half good season in 8 years at Arsenal and selfishly decides not to renew…..

  3. I heard this story announced on BBC radio 5 earlier on. The bloke announcing it sounded like someone had died and we should all be in mourning. Typical BBC bias in favour of the arse. Looking forward to seeing Dixon, Keown etc on the telly while the gooners get thrashed next season.

  4. Fulop played for Tottenham aswell!!!! Cheating bastard.

Yep lets all have a laugh at Arsenal, what a joke of a club. Lets have a laugh at the bindippers too, Sigurdsson chose well and Liverpoo fans must surely now realise that the 1980s was a long time ago!

  5. Le Arse should be more worried about the undertones of his comments as to why he is leaving.

Leaving a sinking ship springs to mind.

Oh dear mind the gap. There is no gap.

  6. LET THEM ALL LAUGH , IVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY AS A SPURS FAN !! WE HAVE A GREAT SQUAD OF PLAYERS , ” BRING IT ON DOWN YOU YIDDOS X

  7. Nice article! I wonder when Arsenal will set their standards instead of following and only thinking of being on top of Spurs at the end of the season? Building your team on hate and forget that you have to win trophies and retain your players…LOL! Spurs care less about Arsenal and with that they are better off and will definitely will win trophies before Arsenal. With RVP and Walcot going I wonder how they will be in the Champions league next season?

  8. Yeah when RVP goes to man shitty and bangs in goals against the red devils will see who is crying than. You probably never been to manchester let alone Old Trafford. Also your just projecting after man shitty made you arm chair fans cry. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  9. Humm…. We all knew RVP wouldn't sign so no surprise (as we have bought 2 strikers in) but I wonder if spuds fans will be laughing when Modders leaves….

There is no gap? Looks pretty big from this side…

  10. Is no gap? True it's been getting smaller every season and now only 1 point, yep count it on your webbed hand you gimp!

  11. ARSE nal fans, so much hatred, year in year out, at least at THE LANE we are looking to go further forward. what have the Gooners to look forward to this coming season, with RVP and Walcott leaving. Especially RVP refusing to sign a new contract, brilliant, where will this one man team be next season. Can't grin wide enough!!!!

  12. @barton, what gap??? 1 point!!! does that look big to you? arsenal has baught 2 players, one witch has never preformed outside his home town(podolski) not even at bayern could he preform, so dont think he will bang in something like RVP. no way in hell. the other french(what a surprise!!) dude i dont know anything about, but to arsenal fans out there, if you dont can count on fulop next year, and we has a manager who dont has his head up his a.., do you really belive that spurs will be that “far”(1 point) behind arsenal. i dont belive that, but next season will tell, good luck to all premier fans out there.

  13. Yeah great article and well said as to how those arses got 3rd spot. Utter disgwace by Hodgson. RVP a much bigger loss than Modders is to Spurs. Why ? Well for starters the money we get fir said same will be used in the kitty to improve and then some. RVP money won't see the light of day. So enjoy your short spell in CL see you in the Europa where you should have rightly been without the cheating by Fulop. Oh and……Ha ha ! COYS

  14. As a spurs fan, I think I'd be more optimistic about the next few years. As mentioned Spurs want to develop and progress, we're a team moving forward yet Arsenal now appear to be going backwards. Everyone knows that Fulop gifted Arsenal that result out of spite for Spurs because we dropped him, because he wasnt good enough so he threw the game so Arse could finish 3rd!!!! So Modric may leave but I'm pretty sure we can find a suitable replacement and still have made a decent profit. AVB will do well at Spurs I think we're a perfect match. As I said exciting times ahead

  15. Well it's looking like the Arses one man show is hitting the road like a rat deserting a sinking ship. Cole saw it years ago and buggered off so did Adebayor, Fabregas, Toure, Glichy, Nasri, even the headless chicken Walcott may also follow him out the door. The Woolwich big mouths have suddenly gone quiet, who's going to save their arses this time, paralized with panic it's rendered them speechless.

  16. As a Tottenham fan,I can never understand the bile and hatred that seems ti come out of gooners comments.(Especially on the Sun?Mirror/Mail sites.)Not just towards Spurs mind you.ManU also come in for a lot of their hate mail,.I suppose all clubs have a certain element of idiots following them. But the Arse seem to have an awful lot more than most. One has onlt to look on here, and we have a gooner fan going on about Modric, surely he should be more concerned about RVP,than a Tottenham player. But no his brain cannot strect that far.If Modric goes than yes its a shame. But clubs move on, and who's to same, the player brought in will not be better than Modric. And no player is bigger than thae club its self anyhow.Perhaps the odd senseble gooner out,can reflect that,in the RVP situation.

  17. Lol when modders leaves??? Talk is he might not be going due to the huge fee we want for him. If he does go good for him but its a silly time to leave, he will be replaced with Moutinho & Oscar Dos Santos( this guy will be amazing) and them players will come with the cash we get for modders with change left over. Add to that the 70mil we have to spend should get Lloris 20mil, Dzagoev 15mil, Damiao 20mil, and tie up a deal to keep Ade (as players will be sold) and suddenly Arsenal fans dont have that much to laugh about, add to that the Spurs will have Arab money ( will be announced shortly) and now it Sucks to be an Arsenal fan, so go ahead keep laughing.

  18. There was a lot of speculation about the '”mistakes” by Fulop and their timing.
He never had a look in when at WHL (and deserverdly so) and some feel that he had a purchasable axe to grind.
The truth? well stranger things have happened even in England(hello Sheffield Wednesday)
So IIMHO God does not deserve any blame here.

In actual fact, bribing Fulop aside, I feel for Arsenal as they are a financially balanced club (unlike many) and do not deserve such treatment by players who complain that they do not throw money at the squad like some others.
If Arsenal succumb to the “big wallet” it will be a tragedy of he first order and it will prove that Platini is what we all know that he is (a fool)>

  19. Well, its sad, hope Walcott will not follow.Gunners will beta next season. The OX and Wilshere show cant wait!!!

  20. To be honest I feel sorry for the Gooners .. I am beginning to save my anti-ness up for Cheatski after all they Also messed up our season last year by sneaking a cup.. And they are owned by a Russian Sheik… now that is truly nasty …

  21. Arsenal fans have taunted Spurs for years now. But this “mind the gap” situation is pathetic. Our whole squad was poisoned some years ago before the West Ham game (by a suspected gooner chef) and we finished 5th. We have been knocking on the door for past few seasons. Last season they had the assistance of Mr. Fulop. Of course Cheatski did us no favours by putting ten men behind the ball for a semi-final and a final and banking on a penalty shoot out to knock us out the CL before it had begun.
RVP leaving will start an exodus for gooners. Walcott and possibly others. It is amazing how Arse fans are moaning now after taunting Spurs over Redknapp and the Modric situ. Look at your own team and realise that you got lucky last year and the very message board these comments are written on is a Man Utd board – they will always be miles ahead of gooners (remember 8-2???) and Man Utd have won stuff in past 6 years.
Without RVP gooners would have finished 15th. Here's looking down on ya Arsenal fans. COYS!
