Veseli Signs On Deadline Day As Duo Head Out On Loan

Not too many Manchester United fans had heard of Frederic Veseli before Tuesday, but the young Swiss defender signed on Transfer Deadline Day from Manchester City could very well be a star of the future.

It takes guts for a footballer, especially a young one to say ‘enough’s enough’ and move out of a side destined to win things in Manchester City. But that’s exactly what Veseli, frustrated with his first-team chances has done.

Few United fans had heard of the former Swiss Under-17 World Cup winning captain before Tuesday’s shock announcement but due to moving across Manchester, Veseli has now set himself a huge but yet very intriguing challenge.

That challenge will be to prove City that they were wrong in not giving him a chance, despite the fact that he wasn’t really going to be given much of a chance anyway due to the embarrassment of riches Roberto Mancini has at his disposal.

It will not be easy for Veseli to break into United’s first team too. However he will get a chance to prove himself and the club would not have signed him on especially from a rival club in City if they didn’t think he was good enough.

In other news Reds’ reserves Oliver Norwood and Scott Wootton have joined Championship strugglers Coventry City and Nottingham Forest respectively on loan until the end of the season, where they will gain further first-team experience.
