Two More Youngsters Going Out On Loan

Two of Manchester United’s young midfielder’s have agreed loan-moves until January to Football League, sides where they will benefit from regular football and first team experiences.

Danny Drinkwater who previously has had loan-spells at Huddersfield Town, Cardiff and Watford in the last 18 months has joined Keith Hill’s Barnsley in the Championship for the first half of the season. The hard-working former England U19 international will no doubt get opportunities for the Tykes who have signed 10 new players this summer and will learn from his time at Oakwell.

Oliver Norwood who has won 4 caps for Northern Ireland after making his debut under Nigel Worthington in August last year has been loaned to League One side Scunthorpe for the first half of the season. The 20-year-old could feature for Alan Knill’s side in their televised League cup tie at home to Newcastle on Sky Sports.

It will be Norwood’s second spell out on loan following the month he spent with fellow League One side Carlisle last September and just like Drinkwater, he will be given the chances to impress and grow as a player coming back to Old Trafford a better player as a result.
